Shwedagon Pagoda Yangon, Myanmar
Dagon Yangon , Yangon
Shwedagon Pagoda is one of the most sacred places in Burma. And one of the most extensive. It is believed that it was built 2,500 years ago. This is a magical place where, according to legend, 8 Gautama Buddha's hair is enshrined as well as relics of three former buddhas. Shwedagon Pagoda is a myriad of pavilions with buddha statues, always decorated with fresh flowers. The central part is a large stupa made of pure gold. When the dusk falls and the lights come on, the thousands of gold-plated tiles covered by the Shwedagon Pagoda reflect the soft glow of the illumination.
