Shwesandaw Pagoda was erected in 1057 by the most famous Burmese king Anawratha. It is located about 10 km from Nyaung U. You can get to it by asphalt road Anawrahta. This white pyramid-shaped temple is the perfect place to enjoy the sunrise or sunset. From here you can admire the breathtaking panorama of Bagan and its surroundings. To find a place on the top it is worth to set off quite early because later each of the five levels of the Pagoda quickly fills up with people.
